Uncle XOQ ............... by Robby Hoffman
The happiest and most successful humans find their voice, their passion, and immerse themselves in work that makes use of this gift. I call it finding your Q.
My new kids book is about a group of young people who have three letter names that do not match their personalities or reflect their Q.
An additional burden for this gang of “Misfits” is that their parents only buy them clothes that have the letters of their name printed on their hats, shirts, and pants. Everywhere they go, this name shouts out the wrong message; it doesn’t reflect who they really are.
The “Misfits” know another group of kids, the “Harmonies” who have the perfect three letter name. Their names fit like a glove. The Misfits wonder how great it would be to be called a new name, to walk around proudly in clothes that make a bold statement about their true-selves.
The good news is that there is a group of older people called the “Elders.” The Misfits are determined to meet the Elders and seek advice and a remedy to their case of mistaken identity. It is an adventure of self discovery though the maze of challenges that confront most humans.
In order to wade through the confusion of finding who they truly are, the Misfits look for a store that gives them a chance to try on new clothes in a changing room filled with options and realizations. By the end, it is all about looking through mirrors and gaining insights that reveal their Q: their true voice and destiny.
